The Football Agent Certificate - My Journey

As a Rotterdam-based football agent, I bring much experience from my tenure at one of the world's leading agencies. Our portfolio includes esteemed clients such as Noa Lang, Kian Fitz-Jim, Ismael Saibari and many more. In my role, I oversee all contractual matters for our players, serving as The Legal Counsel. Additionally, I am a licensed FIFA Football Agent.

In 2007, I achieved a significant milestone in my career by passing the FIFA Players' Agent exam, making me one of the youngest to do so without needing a resit. This exam is a rigorous test of knowledge and skills in the football industry, and my success in it was a testament to my dedication and understanding of the field.

Before this exam, I had an internship at the agency 4sports Management of Herman Rijkaard, the brother of Dutch football legend Frank Rijkaard.

In my more than a decade-long career as a football agent, I have concluded more than 600 transfers and employment contracts in countries worldwide. I have provided legal assistance and advice to many football agents and clubs on completing and finalising (inter)national transfers. For instance, I have advised on the negotiation of transfer fees, the drafting of employment contracts, and the resolution of disputes. In my advice, I ensure that football agents' practices, (international) procedures, transfer contracts, employment contracts and representation contracts comply with the latest (inter)national laws and regulations.

I am an academic. At the university, I have always taught other students when I was a student myself. The process of educating and seeing someone else's journey is great, and I have always been involved in it. More than 18 years of experience brought me to the position where many football agents contacted me for advice on multiple matters.

Many people, including myself, have had moments where they doubted their ability to succeed in a specific market, such as becoming a successful football agent. But if your journey starts with a negative thought, success will never happen. Negative thinking can act as a barrier to your future. I, too, faced doubts and challenges when I started my career, but I overcame them with positivity, passion, and a specific goal. I want to share my journey to inspire you to believe in your potential and pursue your dreams.

During the coronavirus pandemic, I wanted to combine my experience working within the football industry—as a legal advisor and football agent—with teaching. I wanted to give aspiring and current agents access to opportunities I didn't have. I wanted to teach and give people—anyone interested in becoming an agent—the chance to find a way into the industry.

In 2021, I started writing a series of books titled "How to Pass the FIFA Football Agent Exam." Books 1, 2 and 3, which contain a detailed explanation of the FIFA RSTP and became number 1 bestsellers at Amazon. These books are also used as handbooks by many agencies worldwide.

My mission in releasing these handbooks and courses is clear: to provide comprehensive training and guidance to current and aspiring football agents. The football industry requires highly qualified professionals who can effectively manage, represent, and protect the interests of their clients. I aim to equip you with the most important and relevant materials to succeed in this demanding field.
